Constantly Roaming
Happy New Year everyone and welcome to my new blog, Constantly Roaming!
I hope that this can be a space where you can read my stories and see a part of yourselves in them; a place where you can feel encouraged to take a step outside of your comfort zone and live life as your most authentic self (whatever that means). My goal with this blog is to remind myself that the world is not an Instagram filter, but rather a really large, craggy mountain with steep peaks and slippery declines. However, in the midst of it all, there are shining moments that make it worthwhile. With over 30 years on this Earth, I have declared myself as a perpetual misfit. Feeling like I don’t fit in anywhere used to make me feel significantly lonely, but overtime, I learned to embrace my messy and overworked brain as well as my ever changing interests and personalities.
I am genuinely hopeful, now that we are stepping into 2022. While I don’t truly believe in the “New Year, New Me” mantra, I do appreciate the sentiment behind it. It’s a chance for us to reflect on the past year and revitalize the dreams we have put to the side. Before now I’ve felt like I was living another person’s life thinking it was mine. Following the paths that made sense within the society in which I grew up; paths that were explained to me as being stable and reliable. However, now that I’ve left the young adult category and entered full blown adulthood, (what’s up with that?!) I have a fear of waking up 30 years from now regretting not being brave enough to do the things that make me truly happy and fulfilled, despite the risks involved. Cheers to me taking the first step forward! I promise to persist through all of the road blocks I will eventually walk through. “We don’t need to worry / ‘Cause when we fall, we know how to land” - Permission to Dance, BTS
I am excited to start this journey and I hope that you will enjoy walking through the forest with me.
